Everything! The pictures don't begin to do the place justice. The room we stayed in was huge and the view was incredible! We saw the northern lights on 2 separate nights here during our 5 night stay. It probably would have been 3, but in the night when the forecast was strong, we were so exhausted we just fell asleep! We got engaged on the terrace underneath the Northern lights and it was so magical ✨️ We actually booked the hotel at a time when the hotel was supposed to be closed, however, they allowed us to complete our stay anyway and we had the hotel to ourselves. They provided breakfast and the man who served and made breakfast for us went above and beyond to make us feel incredibly special. We can't thank him enough for helping to make this trip the most special and incredible holiday of our lives. He was from Hungary and unfortunately, I don't know how to spell his name. But I wanted to make special mention of how incredible he was. The room and bathroom were beautiful and the rest of the hotel is truly stunning. If you are planning on visiting Iceland, this is the place to be!

The hotel is nicely situated on the edge of a lake around 5 miles (15 minute drive) from centre of Reykjavik. The hotel is cosy, has good facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Parking is easy. The room (superior) is very modern and nicely finished with sliding doors out onto landscaping and the lake. There are also older rooms and you should check which you are booking. Breakfast was plentiful and adequately varied. We had the evening meal twice and whilst choice is limited, this was good and reasonably priced (for Iceland!) Whilst the Northern Lights were unfortunately not able to be seen during our stay due to cloud cover, if visible, reception will wake you if you request.

Great location. Beautiful view on the lake. Very friendly staff. Nice hot tub. Two things we did not like. 1. Bedclothes- like cuddling with a sheep. So we took the blanket on top to cover us. 2. Worst pizza ever. We ordered pizza for dinner and it was really bad quality food, super cheap ingredients. Cold mushrooms were placed on top. Prize was 3700 ISK / 25 €. A rip off. But the cost is secondary, the owner should be ashamed to sell that rubbish to the customers. Feel sorry for the staff who had to serve it.

Location is great, and not far from the city centre if you want to visit there. Plenty of free parking on site. Quicker to get to ring road from hotel than city centre too. The gentleman working the evenings in the restaurant was one of the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered in any hotel. Loves his job, and went out of his way to make sure the hotel guests have all that they need. Love the decor and it was nice to relax in the restaurant/lounge area after a long day on the road.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of our Iceland trip. We liked the location and the environment. It is 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik and 40 minutes from the international airport. We stayed at the bigger room (11) with a balcony facing the lake. The room was very clean and spacious for 3 of us. The hotel breakfast room has a great view of the lake and breakfast had many choices.
